The Carline VandenElsen story
"A Mother's Convictions"- is a one hour documentary about a 4 1/2 month old nursing infant, Mona-Clare, who was taken from her mother Carline VandenElsen after a 67 hour "Shirley Street" stand-off.
A 9 week, very public, trial/media circus ensued in Halifax, NS, Canada in May 2004.This documentary tracks the history of this case and follows the trial from the personal perspective of Carline and the filmmaker.
The film is being screened at the Salon des Refuses Atlantique
